#39 Gratitude

This morning I thought, "No one told me to write on the weekends, I myself didn't think that my weekends would be made of these."

And yet I do it just because I feel I need to, I just want to do it, it gives me a great sense of purpose. I wonder, is this what Brian Tracy meant when he said "When you start doing what you love to do, you will never work another day in your life"?

Brian Tracy Quote: “When you start doing what you love to do, you will never work

Stuff I've learnt this week:

1. Never stop learning.

Attended a dialogue session (Mindset and Learning - Nature or Nurture) by the Institute of Adult Learning Singapore and learnt about how there are different types of modern learners (see Ms. Kang So-Young's slides), how to cultivate a strategic mindset (see Dr. Patricia Chen's slides) and being inspired by So-Young's story of how her father never stopped learning even till old age.

2. Gratitude.

I listen to guided meditations on Insight Timer and I like one of the reminders towards the end of the session. It's about thanking yourself for taking the time to meditate today.

When was the last time we thanked ourselves for something? Perhaps it could be for taking care of our body by getting a work out in, or even allowing ourselves a sleep in just because.

This got me thinking about how far I've come in my life journey. A year ago, I would not have thought I will be where I am now, thriving, doing what I love, writing, meditating, putting in the work to take care of myself.

This is for me, but for everyone else reading this.

Thank you for taking care of yourself, thank you for all that you have done to bring you where you are today. And if you think you are not yet in a good place, there is still hope and time. C'mon, hurry along, we're waiting for you.
