#38 Only human

Typing the title got to be one of the hardest things I've done today. It's like finding an excuse for myself for not having written since the 4th July.

I have another post sitting in my drafts that I forgot about but I choose to type a new post instead of retracing my thoughts and putting myself back into the headspace when I typed that one out.

I wrote in my planner at the start of the week to blog on Sunday. I'm happy to be doing just that right now.

"Either you put it in your calendar or it doesn't get done", "Plan it to do it", or the famous one "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail" by Benjamin Franklin. These quotes seem so apt right now.

This week,

I've experienced the frustrations of children not understanding a certain subject when I tried to make the background of a photo white using Photoshop.

I've chased the sunset for a photo and realised that if you miss a moment, it's gone forever.

I've learnt that sleep could heal the body. Found myself ill and went to see the doctor. After I came home, I read a book till I fell asleep at the couch. Woke up feeling so much better.

Stuff I found from around the web that I love:

1. Ali Abdaal retweeting this thread by Michael Ashcroft.

Here's a short snippet:

2. James Smith quoting James Clear in his email newsletter.

"Don't think about what you want to be, but what you want to do."

I've been stuck in this thought pattern of wanting to be a (certain occupation). Trying to fit myself into that mould. But there are loads of things I want to do that may not be typical of that certain occupation.

When I think about what I want to do instead, suddenly things start to click. I do not have to be that someone. I can choose to do all that I want to do. All the things that I am capable of doing and enjoy doing.

3. Also James Smith in his email newsletter,

"Becoming is better than being" by Carol S. Dweck
